P-G Editorial Page Gets It Right (For Once)
One of America’s self-proclaimed Great, Neato, Super Fabulous Newspapers, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, finally got its head screwed on right this morning. In a stark contrast to previous editorials celebrating the County Diminutive’s wise stewardship of the public fisc, the P-G criticized Onorato for trying to abscond with Drink Tax revenues for use in the general budget. The P-G noted that what Onorato and his crack legal team had tried was manifestly illegal:
“It should have been clear to Mr. Onorato from the outset that the new taxes were to fund mass transit only, not to cover other county expenses.”
So much for that frivolous lawsuit, eh, Dictator Dan? http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09007/939997-192.stm
